Hardie Siding, New Windows, & Doors Banish Wood Rot on Overland Park Home

An Overland Park resident needed an overhaul for his two-story home’s exterior. His siding was rotting and his windows were deteriorating and not opening or closing properly. 

The Safe Harbor team members met many times with the homeowner, created a project plan, and made changes as needed. He felt comfortable with our approach and employed us to renovate his home’s exterior.

New Hardie Siding, Marvin Windows, & ProVia Doors Elminate Wood Rot

In consultation with the homeowner, we established a course of action to help him accomplish his goals. To replace the rotting, outdated vertical siding, we installed James Hardie 7” lap siding and James Hardie soffit, fascia, and trim. James Hardie fiber cement siding is exceptionally durable and can withstand Overland Park’s hot summers and chilly winters. Lap siding has a classic appearance that complements this traditional home. We also installed 6” gutters and 3×4 downspouts. The rotted siding was located on the side of the home, while the front was finished with stucco. Since the stucco was still in good shape, we saved the client money by painting the front rather than replacing the material. 

To replace the shabby windows, the client chose Marvin fiberglass windows. Industry-leading Marvin windows are known to be high quality, low maintenance, and energy efficient. And they look great, too! 

Finally, we installed a ProVia entry and storm door. The new doors added a much-needed style update, providing a fabulous first impression for visitors to their house. ProVia doors come in various decorative options, allowing our client to choose a style that enhances his home.
