A Shawnee resident loved his Tudor-style home, but the deteriorating siding meant it was time for a complete exterior overhaul. The homeowner was frustrated with his never-ending (and expensive!) battle with maintenance, including patching wood rot and repainting the peeling surface.
He sought a high-quality, low-maintenance siding that would allow him to realize long-term savings by avoiding constant repairs. The homeowner contacted Safe Harbor Exteriors for an estimate and decided to work with our knowledgeable James Hardie siding crew.

The client chose James Hardie fiber cement siding for its exceptional longevity and because it is low-maintenance and easy to clean. Unlike wood or vinyl siding, Hardie fiber cement siding doesn’t rot or warp and can withstand the harsh Kansas City-area winters. To maintain the home’s Tudor-style but with a more toned-down look, we used Monterey Taupe trim and Evening Blue cedar mill panels.
Small challenges cropped up during the project, such as an exposed electrical wire that ran on the outside of the home, but we were able to solve all of the issues while remaining on schedule and on budget.
