A Lenexa resident needed an upgrade for her home’s exterior. In addition to being dated, her siding was riddled with wood rot, leaving it susceptible to mold growth and threatening the structure’s integrity. Her doors and windows also needed modern, stylish replacements. She turned to the highly skilled team at Safe Harbor Exteriors to undertake this major project.
Beautiful New James Hardie Siding
Our designers spent a lot of time with the client to go over the details and ensure they understood exactly what look she was going for, as well as potential challenges. At our recommendation, the homeowner chose James Hardie fiber cement siding because it’s both low-maintenance and durable. James Hardie siding is made with a mixture of sand, wood fiber, and Portland cement. It is both strong and yields a high return on investment.
We created a custom look by installing classic James HardiePlank 8.25” lap siding, a popular horizontal style, and HardieShingle siding, which has the look of cedar shingles without the endless upkeep. For an accent, she chose contrasting HardieTrim for the new windows and the corners and band board. We also installed new gutters to safeguard her exterior against moisture damage and increase her home’s value.
A Brighter Home with Marvin Windows and Doors
The client’s old windows and doors were lessening her home’s curb appeal and making it less energy efficient. To replace them, she chose upscale Marvin windows and doors.
